Leonard R. Fleischer
Leonard Fleischer,75, of Exeter died on
July 1, 2013 at the Exeter Hospital.
He was born February 22, 1938 in Boston, MA the son of the late Samuel A. and Ruth (Ober) Fleischer.
Lenny studied chemical engineering and went on to Iowa State to study nuclear engineering and earned an MS. He then went on to Carnegie Mellon and earned another MS and a Ph.D. He eventually also earned an MBA from Penn State.
Len was in the Air Force ROTC and served on active duty 3 years. He worked for Westinghouse Nuclear and then Gilbert Commonwealth, a nuclear consulting firm. After the nuclear recession, Len managed several businesses in Reading, PA.
Lenny married Rhoda Carol Green from Portland Maine who had attended Simmons and Harvard Graduate School of Education. They lived for many years in Mt. Lebanon and Reading, PA. Rhoda died in 1997. Len is survived by his three children and their wives, Karl and Andrea, Eric and Keiko, Gary and Jennifer, 7 grandchildren.
Len moved to Baltimore, MD, and eventually to Exeter, NH to be near his children.
Len loved to travel and visit his children. He traveled to Australia, Japan, Korea, Germany, England, and France as well as walking through many of our own national parks.
Services will be held Friday at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter at 12:30 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
