Eileen Fitzgerald







Stratham - Eileen (Healey) Fitzgerald, 86, of Stratham, formerly of Katonah, New York passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2014, at home, surrounded by her children.

She was born in New Rochelle, New York on January 8, 1928 to the late Kathleen and James Healey. On April 19, 1952 she married Thomas Edward Fitzgerald, who predeceased her on April 23, 1985. They had a wonderful partnership together for 33 years and raised 6 children.

She is survived by her children: Thomas, Peggy (David Pillsbury), Joan (Greg Riley), Neal, Patty (Ritacco) and Eileen (Jason Elliott). She also leaves behind 8 adoring grandchildren; Liam Pillsbury, Nicole (McCarty) Riley, Meghan and Thomas Riley, Brandi Ritacco and Cecelia Fitzgerald, Madeline and Jack Elliott, and one great grandchild, Sean McCarty. She is also survived by her loving sister, Gerry Halpin, nieces and nephews including Kathleen McCarthy and Kevin Halpin.

Eileen was a loving wife, mother and friend. She touched the lives of so many people. Always positive, loving, and generous in spirit, she had a remarkable way she connected with people. Her great smile and laugh, her gentle words to calm and soothe were authentic and felt by all who knew her. She loved music, reading, politics, sports, and travelling. Her favorite times were those spent with family and friends.

A funeral mass will be held at 10 A.M. Friday, May 9, 2014 St. Michael Church, corner of Lincoln and Front Streets, Exeter. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. There will be a private burial at Calvary Cemetery in Portsmouth.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to the Beacon Hospice, 95 Brewery Lane, Unit 10, Portsmouth, NH 03801.
