Barbara L. Emond
Stratham - Barbara L. Emond, 78, of Stratham died Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at her home with her daughter by her side.
She was born March 12, 1932 in Exeter, NH the daughter of the late William T. and Anna
(Jackson) McLane.
A lifelong resident of Stratham, she worked for several area shoe shops as a stitcher working from her home to be with her daughter. She retired from GTE Sylvania in Exeter after many years. After her retirement she cleaned homes in the area as she wasn't one to sit idle for long.
She was a communicant of St. Michaels Church, Exeter. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading and playing cards.
She was the wife of the late J. Romeo Emond.
Family members include her daughter, Melody A. Gray and her husband, David of Stratham, two grandchildren, Dylan Gray and Amanda Gray both of Stratham, a great granddaughter, Marley Ann Gray of Stratham, two sisters, Gwendolyn LaRochelle of Dover and Margaret Caverno of Stratham.
Mrs. Emond was predeceased by three brothers and five sisters.
A Celebration of her life will be celebrated at Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter, Monday at 2 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may visit with the family at the funeral home, Sunday from 3-6 PM. If desired donations may be made to the NH SPCA, Box 196, Stratham, NH 03885.
