Shirley "Jackie" Dunn


Shirley “Jackie” Dunn, 78 of Cottage Road, Kensington died October 24, 2009 at the Exeter Hospital while surrounded by her family.

Jackie was born December 26, 1930 in Seabrook NH to Eleanor Cortell and Leroy Dow and married Elmer Douglas Dunn on October 25, 1953. They resided in Kensington NH and would have celebrated their 56th anniversary on Sunday.

Jackie and her husband, Buddy, had 5 children, Brenda and William Dauphinais of Kensington NH, Debra and Douglas Dunn of Manchester NH, Jeannie and Stephen Dunn of Dunnellon FL, Karen and Paul Moran of Epsom NH and Paula and Dennis Dunn of Lebanon ME. The children are all grown and have family residing in Maine, New Hampshire and Florida. Jackie leaves a brother Robert Dow and his wife Cal and a sister Patricia and her husband Paul St. Clair. Jackie also had 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.

After the kids were grown Jackie worked as a food server for School Lunch program in the Exeter School District for 17 years and was currently employed by American Greeting were she had been employed for the last 17 years.  While with American Greetings she won numerous District and Territorial awards. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for over 35 years and Cub Scout Leader for Troop 189 while her oldest sons were growing up.

A Memorial Service will be held at the First Baptist Church Hampton Falls, 3 Lincoln Avenue, Hampton Falls, Sunday November 1, 2009 at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers donations be sent to the Hampton Falls Baptist Church for their Youth Fellowship Program.  Arrangements are by the Stockbridge Funeral Home, Exeter.
