Hubert J. Downing
Epping – Hubert J. “Toots” Downing, 84, of 165 Nottingham Square Road died Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at the Exeter Hospital.
He was born March 30, 1922 in Georgetown, MA a son of the late Elmer and Florence (Wedge) Downing.
Mr. Downing lived in Epping for many years and worked for the Former Kingston Warren Company in Newfields. He attended the Epping Community Church and was a member of the American Legion Post #51 of Epping.
He was a Veteran of the US Army serving during WWII.
He enjoyed working in the yard and repairing small engines.
Family members include his wife of 60 years, Madelyn E. (Ayer) Downing of Epping, two sons, Bruce J. Downing of Epping and David H. Downing of Rochester, four grandchildren one great grandchild, one brother, Clayton Downing of Brentwood, also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter, Monday at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may call at the funeral home, Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Burial will be in the Downing Family Cemetery, Epping.
