Daniel A. Deschenes
Exeter – Daniel A. Deschenes, 52, of Exeter died Friday, August 24, 2012, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in Rochester, NH.
He was born July 12, 1960, in Beverly, MA, the son of Arlene (Gallagher) Deschenes of Exeter and the late Jean Deschenes.
Dan was raised in Beverly and was a graduate of Beverly High School, but he believed in the school of hard knocks. He was a hardworking, dedicated and loyal father, uncle, brother, boss, son and friend.
He moved in 1981 from Beverly to Exeter, where he owned and operated Deschenes & Sons Landscaping, which he started with his late brother, Darrell, and ran with his three sons, Dan Jr, Matthew and Chris. He believed you worked from sunup to sundown during the mowing season. He was a dedicated family man and his family always came first.
He enjoyed photography, his darkroom, the ocean, boating and especially his home away from home.
Family members in addition to his mother include his companion, Elizabeth L. Barrett, his children, Daniel A. Deschenes, Jr., Matthew J. Deschenes, Chris J. Deschenes, Blake Felder and Rachel Felder, and his grandson Colin Deschenes, all of Exeter, his brother, Kevin Deschenes, of Effingham, his sister, Wanda Whirling of Conway, his former wife, Beverly Deschenes of Amesbury, MA and his many nieces and nephews whom he helped along the way, especially Camille Deschenes, his late brother’s daughter.
Visiting hours will be held at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter, Thursday from 4-8 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, Dan would want everyone to support their local merchants, as he always did, instead of the chain gangs.
