Thomas M. Davis


Exeter – Thomas M. Davis, 66, of Exeter died Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at his home.

He was born September 15, 1946 in Reading, Pennsylvania to the late William and Alta (Hogg) Davis.

Tom was raised in Atglen, Pennsylvania, a graduate of Octorara High School and was a graduate of Goldey-Beacom College. He was a veteran and served as an Air Traffic Controller in the US Air Force.  He worked for the Boston Globe and was most recently the Vice President of Finance at Seacoast Media Group. He began his career in the Air Force and retired from Seacoast Media Group in 2010, a Controller in both fields.

Tom resided in Exeter, New Hampshire since 1986 having moved here from Seaford, Delaware.  He was a devoted husband, father and friend. His interest in history, politics and international cultures provided him with a wealth of knowledge to share with his family and friends. He also enjoyed computers, gardening and was skilled in crossword puzzles.

Tom’s family members include his wife of 37 years, Linda D. (George) Davis of Exeter; his children, Sean M., Kathryn D. and Scott A. Davis; his siblings, Rodger Davis of Florida, Jeffrey Davis of Delaware, Delinda Walter of Pennsylvania, Armond Sheaffer of Tennessee, and Tammy Fulmer of Pennsylvania; and was also survived by several nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by his eldest brother, William Davis.

Funeral services will be held at Christ Episcopal Church on Pine Street in Exeter on Tuesday at 11 AM. The burial will follow the funeral services and will be held at the Exeter Cemetery on Linden Street in Exeter. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family at the Stockbridge Funeral Home at 141 Epping Road in Exeter on Monday from 5-8 PM.  In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Epilepsy and Cystic Fibrosis Foundations.
