He was Honorably Discharged in 1951.  After serving in the US Army he attended Northeastern University studying Civil Engineering. This is where he met the love of his life, Eleanor R. Hammond whom he married in 1955.
He and his wife moved to Stratham in 1958 and started the Dwight Crow Agency (Insurance and Real Estate) retiring in 1997.

Dwight was a life member of the Stratham Volunteer Fire Department and served as past President. He was one of the founders of the Stratham Fair where his signature Crowing Rooster call would announce the chicken BBQ.

Dwight enjoyed traveling, big game hunting, and skiing as well as volunteering and skiing with the Winter Special Olympics. They spent many winter week-ends at their Killington chalet skiing with their friends and family.

After his retirement he and his wife moved to Pawtuckaway Lake where his Dad had purchased a camp when Dwight was born. His heart had always been there spending many summers in boyhood, then teaching his own and neighbor's children water skiing, boating skills, ice fishing, hunting as well as enjoying many other family outings.  As a member of Pawtuckaway Lake Improvement Assoc. he volunteered with the lake water testing team collecting samples for State analysis.
