Mary J. Conway



Exeter, NH – Mary J. Conway, 94 died Wednesday, January 5th, 2011 peacefully in her sleep at her home at Riverwoods in Exeter, NH.

She was born October 21, 1916 in Belmont, MA and grew up in Arlington, MA.  Mary was the only child of the late George and Elizabeth Forbes of Arlington, MA. She was a graduate of Arlington High School class of 1934 and a graduate of Katherine Gibbs School of Boston 1936.

She and her late husband Eugene A Conway of Salem, NH along with their four children lived in Natick, MA for 20 years. The family moved to Southern NH in 1967.

Mary was a member of the Girl Scouts of America as a youth in Arlington, MA and was an adult troop leader in Natick, MA.  Mary loved everyone and was a wonderful mother, wife and friend. She loved walking the New Hampshire seacoast, traveling to exotic places, and wintering with friends in Naples, FL.  Mary especially enjoyed her Harley-Davidson motorcycle adventures with Michael Anderson.

She is survived by her son, Laurie F. Conway and his wife, Stephanie and Mary’s grandson, Justin F. Conway; her son, George F. Conway and his wife Joane, her daughters Susan J. Conway and Bonnie J. Shea; also her daughter-in-law, Muriel Conway and her children, Jeanne, Cory, Theresa, Scott, Christine and families.

A private family service was held at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, Exeter, NH.  Memorial donations may be made to Riverwoods Employee Appreciation Fund, C/O VP Human Resources Dept., 7 Riverwoods Drive, Exeter, NH 03833.  An Urn committal will be held at a later date at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Arlington, MA.  Arrangements are by the Stockbridge Funeral Home, Exeter.
