Kensington – Frederick H. Chase Jr., 83, of Kensington died Thursday, July 14, 2016 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA.

He was born in Newburyport, MA February 20, 1933 the son of the late Frederick H. Chase, Sr. and Pauline (Currier) Chase.

Mr. Chase was a graduate of Amesbury High School and lived in Amesbury for many years, moving to Kensington in 1960. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.

He was a merchant seaman for many years working for the Moran Towing and Transportation Company.

His life revolved around his family especially his grandchildren.

He was a member of the Kensington American Legion.

Family members include his wife of 57 years, Gloria (Gendron) Chase, his daughters, Lori J. Bohan and Wendy S. Takesian and her husband, Michael, his grandsons, Adam Urquhart, Jonathan Toscano, Ross Takesian and Christopher Takesian and many friends.

A Celebration of his life will be held at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter, Tuesday, July 19, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may visit with the family at the funeral home on Monday, July 18 from 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Burial will be in the Village Cemetery, Kensington.
