Marjorie C. Byrne
Brentwood – Marjorie C. Byrne, 82, of Brentwood died Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at the Rockingham County Nursing Home.
She was born March 23, 1927 in Auburn, NY the daughter of the late Norman and Mary (McCarthy) McCann.
Mrs. Byrne was raised in Melrose, MA and was a graduate of Melrose High School. A graduate of Mount Auburn Hospital School of Nursing she worked for Massachusetts General Hospital, Portsmouth Regional Hospital, and Exeter Hospital before assuming the duties as nursing supervisor at the Rockingham County Nursing Home until 1991.
Marjorie was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church of Exeter where she had resided since 1954. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she enjoyed spending time with her family: her husband of 60 years, Gerald F. Byrne of Brentwood, her children, Daniel Byrne of Rye, John Byrne of South Berwick, ME, Thomas Byrne of Exeter, William Byrne of Pembroke and her daughter, Kate Pratt of Exeter. Mrs. Byrne had 8 grandchildren and is survived by her beloved sister Marilyn Curran of Peabody, MA.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family on Sunday from 4-7 PM at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Church, corner of Front and Lincoln Streets, Exeter, Monday at 10 AM. Burial will be in the Exeter Cemetery. If desired donations may be made to the St. Michael’s Building Fund, 9 Lincoln Street, Exeter, NH 03833.
