John J. Bucsi
Stratham, NH - John J. Bucsi, 80, of Stratham NH died Monday, June 16th 2014 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
Mr. Bucsi was born October 24th, 1933 in Newark, NJ the son of immigrant Hungarian parents the late John Bucsi and Theresa (Jandrosits) Bucsi. He was raised in Irvington, NJ and was a graduate of Irvington High School and attended Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ.
Mr. Bucsi was a Veteran of the US Air Force serving in Nancy, France at the Toul-Rosieres USAF Base from 1953 through 1957 working in the Air Control Tower, maintaining the towers radio installations. He completed his service in the USAF Reserves in 1961 rising to the rank of Staff Sergeant. One of his more proud moments when speaking of his service was that of his friendship with the great AF Test Pilot Chuck Yeager.
Upon his release from the Air Force he started his civilian career working for the former Sperry Univac in Bluebell, PA for 23 years working his way up from a Customer Engineer Technician to Director of Customer Engineering Worldwide. He ended his career as Vice President of Customer Engineering at Wang Laboratories, Inc. of Lowell, MA after 16 years, retiring in 1998.
Formally of North Andover, MA, John has lived the last 18 years in Stratham NH. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather whose pride and joy was that of his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Goldie A. (Timar) Bucsi who traveled the world with and for him during his career. His three daughters whom he prided himself as being brought up as the strong independent career women he so wanted them to be, Libby Bucsi of Newburyport, MA, Barbara Stephen of Amesbury, MA and Carolyn Pollet of Stratham, NH. He always said “he was a man Blessed among woman” when he spoke of his wife and girls. His is also survived by his two son-in-laws; Chris Pollet and Lee Stephen as well as his brother –in-law, Richard Timar, and his beloved grandchildren, Natalie and Ethan Pollet, who brought so much joy and love to his life and for whom he would go to the ends of the earth for.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may visit with the family at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road Exeter, NH Friday from 9:30 am to 10:45 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael Church, corner of Front and Lincoln Streets, Exeter NH Friday at 11 am followed by a Mercy meal at the Church. A 2 pm burial will be in the Maple Lane Cemetery, Stratham NH.
