John A. Broderick, Jr.


Exeter - John A. "Jackie" Broderick, Jr., 73. of Exeter died Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Exeter on Hampton Rehabilitation Center.

A lifelong resident of Exeter he was born here December 19, 1936 the son of the late John A. Broderick, Sr. and Ellen (Calnan) Broderick.

He was a graduate of Exeter High School and worked for the former Exeter and Hampton Electric Company for many years.  He along with his father rented canoes for many years so people could canoe on the Exeter river.

He was a communicant of St. Michael's Church, serving as a greeter for the 4 pm mass on Saturday's for many years, he was a member of the Exeter Country Club and visiting North Conway where he belonged to a ski lodge.  He was a veteran of the US Navy submarine services.

He was the husband of the late Patricia E. (Richards) Broderick.

Family members include his sisters, Elaine Lee of Exeter, Marilyn Strusburger and Josephine Fossum both of CA, also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Michaels Church, corner of Front and Lincoln Streets, Exeter, Wednesday at 10 AM.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may visit with the family Tuesday from 2-4 PM at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter, New Hampshire.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Michael's Building Fund,  9 Lincoln Street, Exeter, NH  03833.  Burial will be in the Exeter Cemetery.
