Irving “Dick” Brewster


Exeter – Irving “Dick” Brewster, 90, of Exeter died Friday, December 6, 2013 at Oceanside Rehabilitation in Hampton.

A lifelong resident he was born here November 25, 1923 the son of the late Charles M. and Winnifred (Johnson) Brewster.

Dick was a graduate of Exeter High School and was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Normandy invasion.  He worked for the former New England Telephone Company for 33 years, after retiring he owned and operated Brewster Security Company.

He was an active member of the Exeter Congregational Church, served as a deacon and Sunday School Teacher, he was a member of the Exeter Rotary Club and served as the secretary.

He will be remembered for his contagious smile and laugh.

Family members include his wife of 65 years, Marilyn (Maher) Brewster of Exeter, his son, Barry J. Brewster of Exeter and his daughter, Bonnie A. Rosencrantz and her husband, Wes of Kensington, his grandchildren, Sarah, Adam and Jamie, his great grandson, Joshua Sirois.  Also survived by his former daughter-in-law, Pam Brewster.

A Celebration of his life will be held at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter, Tuesday at 6 PM.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may visit with the family from 3 -6 PM.  Family flowers only, If desired donations may be be made to the Exeter Rotary Club Scholarship Fund.  Burial will be in the Exeter Cemetery.
