Stratham – Kenneth G. Blood, Jr., 69, of Stratham died Sunday, April 20 2014 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born June 9, 1944 in Newburyport, MA the son of the late Kenneth G. and Mable (Lincoln) Blood.

Ken was raised in Newburyport and was a graduate of Newburyport High School. He resided in Stratham since 1966 where the homestead is and where he founded KG Blood & Sons Excavation which he operated for many years. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 437, and a member of the Portsmouth, NH Elks. Ken enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing, riding his Harley, golfing, and hosting many social gatherings at his home, but most of all spending time with his grandchildren.

Family members include his sons, Gregory M. Blood and his wife, Shelley of Stratham and Scott M. Blood and his companion, Tara of Hampton Falls, his grandchildren, Taylor Blood, Tyler Blood, Brandon Blood and Lilyan Blood.

He was predeceased by his brother, Rafe Blood.

Services will be held at the Stratham Community Church, 6 Emery Lane, Stratham, Friday at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may visit with the family Thursday from 5-8 PM at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter. Burial will be in the Maple Lane Cemetery, Stratham. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Stratham Hill Park Associarion, 10 Bunker Hill Avenue, Stratham, NH 03885.
