Robert F."Blackie” Blackwell
Kingston – Robert F. “Blackie” Blackwell, 87, died Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at the Veterans Medical Center in Manchester.
He was born in Lynn, MA on August 20, 1924 the son of the late William and Jean (Collier) Blackwell.
He was raised in Lynn and had lived in the Exeter Area since 1961.
He was a veteran of WWII serving with the US Navy.
He was an auto body technician for many years and worked for Bob Webb. He was a life member of the Exeter American Legion Post #32 and helped with the legion baseball team the year THEY WON THE CHAMPIONSHIP.
He was an avid Red Sox and Boston Celtics Fan and loved “Purple” Hippos.
He was a fun loving man and was loved by all.
Family members include his wife, Barbara A. (Gibbs) Blackwell and his family, Mark Biladeau, Fred Biladeau, Heather Decareau, Bonnie Biladeau, 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, his step brother, William Herliay and many friends.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 AM at St. Michael Church, corner of Front and Lincoln Streets, Exeter. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may visit with the family, Sunday from 3-6 PM at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter. Burial will be in the NH Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
