Stewart E. Aither


Exeter – Stewart E. Aither, 74, of Exeter died suddenly November 24, 2012 at his home.

He was born September 2, 1938 in Burlington, VT the son of the late Clarence and Eunice (Godin) Aither.

He was raised in Vermont and was a graduate of Leyand & Gray High School and was a graduate of the University of Vermont with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.  He worked for Public Service Company and Unitil serving as Vice President.

He was an avid hunter, fisherman  and golfer and was a member of the Exeter Country Club for many years.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #32 of Exeter.

Family members include his children, Martin Aither, Todd Aither, Brett Aither, Grant Aither and Kelley Aither, four grandchildren, his sisters, Elaine Robinson, Carole Hodge and Cheryl Deschamps.

He was predeceased a sister, Marjorie Cooke.

A Celebration of his life will be in held at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter, Friday at 7 PM.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may visit with family Friday from 5-7 PM. Private burial will be in Vermont.  If desired donations may be made to the American Legion Post #32, for a scholarship in Stewart’s name.
